Aqueous Ranitidine Elimination in Photolytic Processes
نویسندگان
چکیده
The elimination of ranitidine (a pharmaceutical compound) has been carried out in the presence of UV-C radiation. After some preliminary experiments, it has been experienced the no influence of the gas nature (air or oxygen) bubbled in photolytic experiments. From simple photolysis experiments the quantum yield of this compound has been determined. Two photolytic approximation has been used, the linear source emission in parallel planes and the point source emission in spherical planes. The quantum yield obtained was in the proximity of 0.05 mol Einstein regardless of the method used. Addition of free radical promoters (hydrogen peroxide) increases the ranitidine removal rate while the use of photocatalysts (TiO2) negatively affects the process. Keywords—Quantum yield, photolysis, ranitidine, water treatment.

Photocatalytic (UV-A/TiO2) degradation and photolytic (UV-A) degradation of steroid hormones: norethisterone and danazol in aqueous medium
In this paper, the photocatalytic (UV-A/TiO2) degradation of two steroid hormones: norethisterone and danazol in aqueous medium has been studied using immobilized titanium dioxide as photocatalyst. The photolytic degradation (degradation without photocatalyst) of the two hormones was also investigated. UV-A irradiation was provided by black light lamp 18 W. The photocatalytic and photolytic deg...

Photolysis and photocatalysis of Lauth's violet using nano-titanium dioxide at various aqueous buffer and non-buffer pHs. The effects of some various operating parameters such as initial dye concentration, medium pH, illumination time and catalyst amount have been investigated in a photoreactor equipped with high pressure mercury lamp. Spectrophotometric methods supported that the dye is al...

متن کامل2-Chlorophenol Removal of Aqueous Solution Using Advanced Oxidation Processes Resulting from Iron/ Persulfate and Ultra Violet/ Persulfate
Background: Advanced oxidation processes are used to remove toxic aromatic compounds with low biodegradability, such as 2-chlorophenol. This study investigates the use of Sulfate (SO4-) and persulfate (S2O82-) radicals, as one of the advanced oxidation methods, to remove 2- chlorophenol from aquatic solutions. Materials and Methods: This experimental and pilot-scale study was carried out usi...
